(secretly released statement by Niles Willow published in The I.S.A.)

"... I was contacted by a Professor Ioan Librescu, head of what is know as The Illuminated Society. He took a profound interest in my Colossus sightings and renderings. He invited me to his home to speak to me about all that took place these past couple of weeks. He offered me some coffee, we exchanged words and then he had asked me to paint what I originally saw that historic night. He wanted to see the beast itself. I have to confess something here and now.. it is something that Professor Librescu encouraged me to do. I feel it is the right thing as well. The Four Corners series was rendered from multiple sightings of The Colossus throughout the far regions of this Earth. If you notice, though.. there is something missing in all my pieces.. The Colossus himself. It is obvious in spotting the marks this titan had left behind in all the land masses.. the footsteps, the trees pushed out of the way, molten lava disrupted, the ocean ripped apart.. yet, I did not paint The Colossus in these settings. The reason being was I didn't think the world was ready to see such a celestial being bestow itself upon this reality out of nowhere. It just seemed so sudden. Still... I feel it's my destiny ever since witnessing this divine giant to rightfully portray it just as I, myself saw it that night in New York City. Another thing is, The Four Corners paintings were sightings of The Colossus days before I had witnessed it, it appears. I come to the conclusion that St. Patrick's Church is in fact The Colossus' final destination in its journey for its friend. It graced its steeple with such care and relief.. it appeared as though it was a familiar sanctuary to it. I don't know.. all I know is, this is what I saw in all its glory and truth that night.. I hope to see it again.. it brings me a strange peace.. as if the world is safe when it's around.. Huh. How funny, this world..."

Four Corners of the Earth: HORIZON

(direct quote from Niles Willow from The Gilde, newspaper)

"... with my last release of the almighty Colossus sightings I leave you all with a rather hopeful conclusion. After all the criticisms of the media, fellow artist, scientists, religions.. the fact remains that I'm not the only one seeing this divine beast. It was lastly spotted by an islander in the far east. This beautiful sunset to me represents a foreigner's journey in search of a long-time friend come to a close. I feel we all can observe something remarkably beautiful about all this.. if someone of another realm is willing to stop at nothing to find someone dear to it.. we as humans would be wise to remember our own roots of love and dedication. If this Colossus ever reveals itself to us or not along with its partner, I feel this world is not alone and that it is in good hands, being guarded."

.. with those last words, Niles Willow did not release any information as to his next move or where he'd travel from here. As his statement implies.. sometimes, time can only tell.ayed at Heaven No More

(article taken from The Gilde, newspaper):
... Niles Willow, the well-known artist turned phenomenon in the recent weeks over his sitings of the elusive "Colossus" releases his third installment. Willow left information to our press regarding his latest piece. He has stated that the "Colossus" will stop at nothing it appears to find his master. It has left enormous foot prints in this South-Eastern volcanic valley, just after its nearby volcano erupted. It is assumed that it is impervious to much of the elements. Perhaps it is in its ancient metallic armor that The Colossus gains his strength... one more release is highly anticipated from Niles this week.)

(quote taken from The Gilde, newspaper):
".. I just couldn't wait in accordance to my manager's advice.. the people must see this! The Colossus is making fast track across the far ends of our planet! This beast from the gods cannot be denied.. to do so is such ignorance and a true blasphemy.. this is a rare beauty of unspeakable proportion... "

(... according to Niles' rant, he is to release his pieces of the set entitled: "Colossus, the Four Corners" sooner than anticipated. He is getting massive press coverage and criticism from the art and science communities. Niles informed us that his latest rendering was portrayed from an e-mailed description from the North West regions of Alaska)

...Niles Willow, the chosen designate that has spotted what he calls "The Colossus", a sentient titan descended from the Heavens releases his first rendered land- sighting. This depiction was spotted from an anonymous viewer, located at the far most South West cardinal of the world.. it shows a once flourished forest abundant with foliage and autumnal greenery, now ravaged. The embedded imprints of an immense animal is shown as it trails towards the direction of the sun in the sky. Niles undeniably claims this is the works of The Colossus and its search for someone. Niles stated he will further release more works later this week. -- excerpt from The Gilde, newsaper

Colossal Contest CLUE #1

(Extended article taken from "The Gilde", newspaper)

...the Colossus had been sighted by a number of modern day artists throughout the city of New York. One artist in particular, Niles Willow was startled nearly into exasperation upon viewing this beast.

His claim is that this creature was of massive proportions.. at least 7 stories high, definitely larger than any Earthly land animal. It knew where it was going.. it seemed almost as if it were searching for something.. or someone. The beast stopped and quickly glanced at Niles for a moment, then took off.

We interviewed Mr. Willow and asked him to describe this giant's appearance to the best of his recollection. Willow said, " I understand the exterior criticisms and concerns in regards to my witness of such a phenomenal claim. However, this is no claim.. it is fact. I know what I saw. I know what I heard. I was walking towards St. Patrick's Church about to take a picture of it for my painting references. This was around midnight. Oddly enough there weren't many people around at all.. it was unusually barren. Then, as I focused my lens I saw a shadow hovering over the already night-lit cathedral. I took my camera away from my eyes.. I didn't believe what I saw. It took my mind about 10 seconds to even process what my eyes had never before seen. I remember clearly seeing what I can best describe as a giant. It had fur-like texture from its silhouette. Its hands were overwhelming in their immensity as they grazed over the church's top. It noticed me...  it stared at me.. its candle-like eyes focused, then they quickly calmed. It looked up to they sky and took off. Yes, it had wings. A distant roar trembled from atop the moon's reflected light as I gazed the last prominent  glimpse of this titan. What can I say about this whole occurrence.. ? It was beyond surreal. I felt as if it were looking for something, or rather someone. I say this because it looked straight into my eyes.. it felt no fear. It was a soothing look, but not a conclusive reaction. I wasn't who it was looking for. It spread its massive wings.. they reminded me of an eagle's wings.. or better yet, an angel's. What business this beast had at St. Patrick's Church is beyond me.. this is all beyond my knowing. I feel as an artist very lucky, but filled with a responsibility to share this with the world.. especially all other artists. We, as artist should make haste and pay tribute to this divine visit, for I feel that this is a signal of great changes upon the horizon. We would be wise to keep a high awareness before we are all swept away into a darkness of obscurity."

Ever since Willow's encounter he has been the source of mass media attention. He has been away at his studio for weeks now. He released a statement saying that he is working on recapturing through his artistic ability what he saw that night. Niles also stated that he will disperse public releases of these works in the weeks ahead...

Keep a lookout!

Colossal Contest, $100 Prize

-Attention all artists of Heaven No More! I'm issuing a $100 prize within the art tournament, aside from the grand prize of $300! It's called "Colossal Contest"

Here's how it works:
-As you all know, Heaven No More is based on "The Chronicles of Sun", the story based adaptation for the theme of the gallery. The protagonist of the story, Sun is protected by a mysterious giant, golem-like being called The Colossus. It is still a mystery as to what The Colossus looks like. I'm issuing a creative challenge for whoever can illustrate The Colossus' appearance most accurately.
-If you've been following the story on this blog's archives you will know of its mentioning throughout. I will be issuing clues up until the gallery as to this beast's appearance. Use them wisely, with your knowledge of art and application... and go for it! Submission of pieces will be accepted the night of Heaven No More. The winner will be announced as well. In the meanwhile, keep a close lookout for sightings and clues of the almighty... Colossus!

Enjoy!
